Project Introduction

Green Care is a web-based monitoring system for recording issues found on plants grown in polybags. It connects each plant identity, garden location, and observation to a historical dashboard.

Garden Environment

The system is designed for use at community gardens, nurseries, and polybag planting zones. Staff or volunteers can submit observations using a phone while inspecting plants on site.

QR Code and Manual Entry

Each QR code opens the report form with the polybag number already filled in. If a QR code is damaged or unavailable, the user can type the number manually.

Scan the QR code attached to a plant or polybag.

Confirm the plant number and enter the garden location.

Select the issue, leaf condition, soil condition, and add notes.

Use the dashboard to identify patterns and plan garden action.

User Guide

  1. Open the reporting page on a phone or computer.
  2. Scan a QR code or type the polybag number.
  3. Complete every required field, confirm the report date and time, and submit the report.
  4. Users can enter the dashboard PIN to review report history, filters, charts, and decision-support information.

Developer Information

Developed by Corina Sinda anak Joannes from the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). This system was developed as a Final Year Project titled Green Care: Design and Development of an Accessible Smart Garden Monitoring System for OKU Community Gardens. It uses PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL to support QR-based plant reporting and dashboard monitoring.

Website Hosting

The system is deployed online using Hostinger hosting and can be accessed through the custom domain https://greencare.agricommunity.io. HTTPS/SSL is used to provide secure access. The database is managed using MySQL, while private database credentials are stored separately in a local configuration file to protect system security.
